Here is another commercial aircraft build up... currently I'm craving for colorful commercial aircraft right now. Got this kit for RM9.90 long time ago but there's a catch for that kind of price... missing canopy! Well... it's not something new as I would prefer it to be cheap rather than draining my pocket and also a good based on how to solve the problem session and sharpen my scratch building skills.
So let's proceed to the work bench and see what's inside the box...
The Kit
the whole kit |
Some sub assemblies |
the fuselage |
engine was glued but i don't intent to detail it.. it will be hidden under the engine hood |
details was not bad... |
i don't trust the decals... especially the earlier ones... |
the instrument panel... |
the shape was a bit weird... |
reshaping needed... |
cheap!!! but...there's a catch... |
Hmm... no wonder. |
Straight forward and i decided to hand painted the cockpit. Yes, too lazy to mix and clean my airbrush ;) So I hand painted the side panels, seat and cockpit floor. As usual, the result was not as my expectation. I use an old trick by sticking a sticker (found it at stationary shop) to fabricate a carpet look alike material.
Sticker cost me 80 cents. I apply the sticker on the seat to simulate fabric. |
Now the cabin floor... |
Cut to desired shape |
a bit of buffing needed |
The front section completed... |
well... look convincing enough... add a bit of detail... |
